What are the requirements for submitting bank statements to the Thai embassy in HCMC for a visa application?

HCMC VisaDTV info and more questions than answers after emailing them.

1 document showing transactions and 1 document showing statement of 500k, wouldn’t 1 bank statement be enough? I have asked them but no reply in two week. HCMC

Also - my (Wise) bank statement is about 10 pages in a pdf, is it possible to upload this like the way it is 10+ pages?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation revolves around the documentation required for visa applications at the Thai embassy in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), specifically regarding the submission of bank statements. Users discuss whether one bank statement suffices or if additional documents are necessary. The importance of demonstrating a minimum balance of 500,000 baht is emphasized, with concerns raised about the embassy's lack of responsive communication. Solutions for dealing with lengthy bank statements, including compression and merging techniques, are also shared, along with experiences from users regarding their interactions with both HCMC and Hanoi embassies.

I share in your pain! I've all but given up. They're impossible to deal with.

So its can you confirm......Its basically need 500k as the current balance, because my previous 6 months have been around 200-300k baht, and I will add the extra only the day before I leave for HCMC

I can confirm, I have the 500k+ on my bankstatement, that already has daily ongoing transactions, is that enough? Surely, that confirms the bank balance rather than having to also upload some other financial document that I can't understand what it even is.

The embassy will give one answer to one and a different one to another. Many have been approved with just one statement.

Thank you, I guess if they have all the info they need on one statement it's enough. Can I apply to Hanoi if I'm based in HCMC? As Hanoi hasn't asked for two forms of this, which is a pain.

You can only apply in Hanoi if you are in Hanoi and same goes to HCMC. You need to provide your place of stay and passport stamp of entry. HCMC has a faster approval reputation than Hanoi.

I've seen people using Wise for their finances but I don't know how universal this is as Wise is not a bank

It is fairly popular, not a bank but operates much like one and widely accepted. Revolt has also been used.

I feel you. I emailed that Embassy once and they hadn't replied after almost a month. And when they replied, they seemed to reply to the wrong email becaused what they said didn't related to my question at all.

I would upload 1 x pdf showing account balance + 1 x pdf showing all transactions (even if it’s 30+ pages long). Some banks have this option to export reports showing either balance or transactions.

Combine these pdfs using pdf merger online.

Can also then compress this pdf to be under 3MB if necessary (google “pdf compress”).

but the account balance is on the statement as closing balance, I’m confused what they mean by this. Wouldn’t a bank statement suffice? It shows the closing balance also, or what do they mean by this?

If your statement shows closing balance and all transactions then I assume this is also ok! As I said, some banks have 2 different kinds of reports.

they want to see the transaction as evidence that this is an account that you use for daily living.

What did you use for proof of balance, I mean, isn't this already on the bank statement as closing balance?

closing balance is in August. So I combined the two docs into a pdf. One is proof of balance with current date and one is the most recent statement June to Aug.

With Wise bankstatements, the closing day is the same day as you request the statement i.e I apply on December 6th, my bank statement will say over 500k on Dec, 6th. What did you use for proof of balance with current date?

it's a little different to Wise, my bank has a proof of balance option, it looks like a letter stating your balance with the current date. The statements only run quarterly. So the next one technically would be ready at the end of Nov. Annoying but 💁

Okay, do you think my statement will be alright then? I have a reply from Hanoi and it didn't state as above - I wonder if I can apply to Hanoi from HCMC? Just using the entry stamp as proof of current location. I'm worried as Wise doesn't offer current proof of balance option.

it sounds like many are using Wise accounts and have been ok. I have no idea, but I applied via HCM from Phu Quoc.... it's an unknown waiting game. I would call the Thai consulate in HCM, the lady is pretty helpful and kind.

Yes, that's fine, but my closing statement on my bank account for the month incl. transactions is proof of what's in my account, what other financial statement could they possibly want extra to this? Doesn't make sense.
