Hello, my friend is a Chinese national about to apply for a Thai ED visa. The Thai embassy in Beijing requires a certificate of deposit no less than 50,000rmb. Does anyone know exactly what this statement should look like? Does he need to leave a 50,000rmb deposit untouched for a predetermined period of time? Or can it just be a bank statement showing the balance of the account? Any help is much appreciated.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Chinese national applying for a Thai ED visa needs to provide a certificate of deposit showing a balance of at least 50,000 RMB. A bank statement indicating this balance is typically sufficient. For specific requirements, it's advisable to check the E-visa website or contact the Thai embassy in Beijing directly.

Show a bank statement with at least that amount in the account.

The requirements will all be on the Evisa website for the Beijing embassy. If he doesn't understand their equirements, he needs to call the Embassy.

All applications are now made via E visa.

Craig Irwin I very much doubt anybody here can help due to the fact that you need residency in China and in that particular province where the consulate or Embassy is, where you like to apply.

Couldn’t find this information on their website, only that proof of funds are required but no details. Called the embassy however the staff wasn’t able to speak enough Chinese or English to understand the question. Hoping someone in this group might know.
