Hi guys. I'm going to Vientiane next week to get a 60 day tourist visa. I have heard I need to show 20,000 baht in my Thai bank book. Is this true? and does the book need to be updated on the day I cross back over to Thailand? This will be difficult as I obviously won't be in Thailand at that time. Any advice or experiences people have had will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice about obtaining a 60-day tourist visa in Vientiane and whether they need to show proof of funds of 20,000 baht in their Thai bank book, as well as needing an onward flight ticket. Comments provide insights that a balance of 20,000 baht or equivalent (USD 700) is required, outward flight tickets are not necessary, and it’s acceptable for the bank statement to be updated prior to traveling.
