Hi guys. I'm going to Vientiane next week to get a 60 day tourist visa. I have heard I need to show 20,000 baht in my Thai bank book. Is this true? and does the book need to be updated on the day I cross back over to Thailand? This will be difficult as I obviously won't be in Thailand at that time. Any advice or experiences people have had will be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Regarding bank statement which I didn't know is true.

My passport is new & came to Thailand last October 2019 & got 1 tourist visa on November 2019.

1, they ask you to have bank statement, not sure how much.

2, now must pay 1000bath in advance when you apply tourist visa.

3, they make sure we understand that non refundable.

4, they asked what I do in Thailand a lot.

I will know I will get visa or not tomorrow.

No need for same day update of bank book. Days before OK or most bank statement.

Vientiane ....

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully.

Vientiane is now asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up.

Onward air ticket is not required, but prepare Rental Contract
