Answer summary

To obtain a tourist visa at the Thai Consulate in Penang, you can apply in the morning (Monday to Friday) between 9-10 am and retrieve your passport the next working day from 2-3 pm. Required documents include 2 photos, house rental contract or hotel booking for a minimum of 7 days, a flight reservation leaving Thailand within 60 days, and if you have prior tourist visas, an updated bank statement showing at least 50,000 baht. Note that while proof of 20,000 baht cash is not required at the consulate, it may be requested upon re-entry at the Immigration point, especially if entering by land.

Proof of 20,000 baht cash is not required by Penang Consulate but it can be required at Immigration point when you re-enter the Country; especially if you re-enter by land using Sadao border

You can go every morning (Monday-Friday) from 9am to 10am only (they accept 100 passports per day) and take back your passport the next working day from 2pm to 3pm only. Bring:

2 Photos;

House rental contract or hotel booking (at least 7 days);

Flight reservation leaving Thailand within 60 days;

If you have more Tourist visa on your passport you must bring updated bank statement showing at least 50.000 baht (any country bank).
