American on visa exemption. I'm having issues understanding what a local Muay Thai gym in Ayutthaya needs from me in order to start studying. I can only understand via translated phone call with gym owner so far, afraid information being lost in translation. What I gather is the gym is saying I need a paper from my embassy saying I can study here or something. Im not sure what hes talking about. I thoight i need a form from the gym to take to the local immigration office. Any helpful advice appreciated. Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreigner on a visa exemption in Ayutthaya is confused about the requirements to study at a local Muay Thai gym, specifically regarding paperwork needed for an educational visa (ED visa). The community discussions reveal that while it's not required to obtain an ED visa for studying Muay Thai, some gyms may mistakenly assume you are seeking sponsorship for one. For ED visas, typically, a letter from the Ministry of Education is needed, which the gym should facilitate. Recommendations include exploring other gyms that are familiar with the visa process and considering switching to a Thai language ED visa for better options.
Is there any other foreigners at the gym on ED visa? Have you been to the gym yet, trained there yet? You might want to consider switching to Thai Language ED Visa in Ayutthaya. I think this option is possible. Also explore northern Bangkok for MT and Language ED Visa options as its 'not far' from Ayutthaya- maybe face to face one day and 2 online lessons per week will be OK. Hope this makes sense.
Google? BKK has Woody and Chakri. Woody needed 7 Months to answer E Mail or phone. Chakri can call. Wife deals with ED Visa all time. He knows some "shortcuts" too if in a hurry.

I am looking for an accredited school that can help with an ED visa. Any idea how to find accredited gyms in my province. Is the ministry of education national or local, etc.?
Easiest way, go to gyms and ask. Or go to their website if they have and if they do visa class definitely will be information about that

You don't need anything. The school might assume you're trying to get them to sponsor you for an ED visa, but if you don't want an ED visa you don't need one.
yes, I am talking with them about help with ED visa, they said I need a paper from my embassy. I don't know exactly what is needed due to translation gaps.

Sounds weird. You can study on any form of visa or entry. The Ed visa is useful if you want to stay long term but not needed to actually study.
that's changing for months... It was a case in the past. You just pay, get the student visa and that's it... Nowadays immigration coming in to the school, checking students, etc. And this is fact I'm studying thai myself and immigration just visited my class on Friday. I didn't say no chance to find a shady school where you can do this but much more harder than before.
