TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain a 6-month education visa for training Muay Thai in Thailand, you need a letter from the gym or educational institution detailing your course. This letter is required when applying at an embassy for the visa. However, some commenters suggest considering a tourist visa or a six-month Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) instead, as education visas involve more paperwork from the gym, which may not be equipped to handle it. There have been tighter regulations on education visas, especially for gyms and language schools.

You will probably be better served to get tourist visas if you will only be here six months or a six month SETV if your country has it available. The education visas require a lot of paperwork on your gym’s part and most gyms aren’t equipped to handle that kind of stuff. The nearby embassies have been really cracking down on ED visas too before the lockdown, especially for gyms/private language schools.

You need a letter from the educational institution (the gym) with the details of your course. You need to take that letter to an embassy and apply for an education visa.
