TLDR : Answer Summary
The query is about locating a Muay Thai gym in Bangkok that offers ED visas. Responses indicate that, prior to COVID-19, some gyms could provide the necessary documentation for ED visas, but the situation appears uncertain now due to changing regulations and potential lockdowns. It is also suggested that obtaining this type of visa might result in high costs and may not guarantee proper training or service.

I would not get that kind of visa with a Muay Thai gym. You might have to pay the full amount for Muay Thai training for a year which is going to be overpriced since they count two sessions a day. Then, if you pay ahead, I am pretty sure the trainers are not gonna care about you. Plus, nobody know what is going to happen during the year. The gyms can get closed again and nobody will return you the money. It's better to get this kind of visa from some self defense school and chose a gym you like and pay by month if you really care about good Muay Thai.

I heard they bring a Muay Thai expert to spar with you to check your training at CW to make sure actually going to school…
lol I know a dozen or so people who's on an ED visa with self defence. None of them have had that. Sounds like a rumor but who knows!
I do intend to attend all classes tho, so no problem :)

There used to be three muay thai/self defense schools in bangkok that were able to issue paperwork so you could get an ED visa BUT that was before this covid shit show started and the countries nearby closed meaning you can't go there and get an ED visa from the thai consulate.
Whether these schools can get in country Non-ED visas inside the country is anyone's guess
