Hello, regarding the 15k usd / 500k baht, what are the seasoning rules? Can I just put the money in my daughters account for one month then she use it to show she has the funds?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the seasoning rules for demonstrating financial stability when applying for a Thai visa, specifically regarding the requirement of having funds (15,000 USD or 500,000 THB) in an account for a certain period. It highlights that the requirements may vary among different embassies, with many requiring at least three months of seasoning. Some commenters share their experiences, noting that results can differ even within the same embassy. Additionally, it’s mentioned that the ability to sponsor someone potentially allows the use of personal bank statements, and the specifics may depend on the applicant's circumstances and purpose of the visa.

They approved in Kuala Lumpur, strict embassy needing a lot of docs, with only stamped certificate of account balance made 2 weeks before applying. I didn't include statement.

It’s Embassy dependant, so search for the exact Embassy and / or read the embassy website.

If you are sponsoring her, you should be able to show your account which I assume has had the minimum balance for at least 3 months? If you are giving her the money to put in her account and have her handle things on her own, she may need to let it sit a couple of months. Which consulate are you going through? Los Angeles wants 3 months.

As you appear to be an American citizen 🇺🇸, is your daughter in the USA now?

What purpose for the DTV visa will she be applying for ?

Soft Power activity? If so, which one ?

Or workcation as a DIGITAL NOMAD?

I think it may be possible, for you as her Father, to Sponsor her DTV application with your bank account balance statements as proof. And that you will support her in Thailand.

You have not said her age, nor her planned living arrangements in Thailand.

That's sad to hear

Totally embassy-specific, and unsurprisingly, person specific, as there are reports of people being approved with only a one month statement while others are required three, on the same embassy. It seems to be a "dynamic" rule. Said so, you shouldn't have problems if it's been seasoned for at least three months.

have you paid attention if the 1month rule was for workcation? Just came to my mind it might be?

@Toni ******
the requirement doesn't seem to vary whether the DTV is for workcation or softpower, rather per embassy.

minimum of 3 months I believe. If she's applying under soft power she may also be required to show how she will support herself
