Can I add the 500k baht to my American bank account a week before applying for DTV in Hanoi?

I’ll be in Hanoi on July 7 and want to apply while there, but nervous about being rejected if the money is not seasoned. Would love to hear experiences like mine.

For reference I am going the soft power route (6 month cooking class).

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the viability of depositing 500,000 Baht into an American bank account just a week prior to applying for a DTV visa in Hanoi. The author expresses concern over the 'seasoning' of funds, which refers to how long the money needs to be in the account before applying. Comments offer mixed experiences, with some stating that the money should be seasoned for at least 3-6 months to avoid potential rejection, while others share success stories of applying with less seasoned funds. Some argue that there are varying requirements among consulates, and the risk remains high for last-minute deposits.

If it's soft power, 500k is not required?

so they deposit the money 2 weeks before applying huh. And they got approved in JUNE. As a remote worker your are asked for the paystubs ( 6 months) for your income i really dont see how adding the money at the last minute wont make them suspect you just borrow the money to satisfy the 500k. There were at least 10 people i counted during the same timeframe that wrote here and this did not work for them. I recently applied at this embassy TWICE yes 2 applications in June. Both applications were approved in 3 business days with the 500k seasoned for 6 months per applicant and can tell you MANY GOT REJECTED IN JUNE for not having the financial requirements for this visa 500k seasoned money minimum 3 months and 6 month for certain . Maybe tell your friends to upload their timelines so others can see and learn from their successful stories as well 🙏

yes they did, and no, you’re not asked for 6 months of pay stubs. I know because I helped them with their application as well as did my own (though mine was with LA with my own company). You state things based on your experience with how you did it for you and your wife, and I do the same with my experience. No where on the consular website nor the portal does it state a requirement to upload 6 months of pay slips. Different consulates will ask for different things and Hanoi did not ask any of my friends for 6 months of slips. There are chances they’ll ask others, but at this time, that’s different for each applicant.

Again, you’re making it as if you know for a fact that those people got denied due to their finances, but you don’t know that. No one does. You do understand that it could’ve been their nationality, documents they submitted looked fishy, or something else and were scrutinized more, right? It’s not just finances as we’ve seen people say they submitted 6 months of 500K being there and getting rejected. Just because you submit all the requirements doesn’t mean you’ll get approved. Thailand can deny you a visa for whatever they feel like.

attaching a third person with similar background that was approved in the same timeframe as of me and my wife in June. THERE IS AN ABSOLUTE NEED AT HANOI FOR THE LAST 6 PAYSTUBS WHEN TAKING THE BUSINESS OWNER/STAYCATION/DIGITAL NOMAD ROUTES. This you wont find in the formal requirements list at the website when you submit the application but it will be required at some point. When you apply as a business owner they are looking for STRUCTURE NOT JUST HAVING 500k in a savings account. They want to see how the money flows from your SO CALL BUSINESS INTO YOUR PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT. The only way to this again is with the paystubs. The info of requirements at the site is pretty limited/lenient and maybe this was the intent when they first thought of this visa, but this is not current as of June in Hanoi due to fraud/abuse. 1st you have a company-the company pays you in a formal way( paystubs) IF YOU JUST PROVIDE WHAT THEY ASK AT THE EMBASSY WEBSITE 100 % they will require more documents again if you apply at Hanoi. You mentioned LA for that i only know it will take longer time at those outstations outside of asia have far less manpower than Hanoi/ Jakarta have to process applications. You should tell your friends to upload their timelines of their applications WITH WHAT WAS PROVIDED…..JUST THE SAME WAY I DID MINE AND OTHERS DO HERE TO JUSTIFY YOUR CLAIMS WHERE PEOPLE APPLY WITH LIMITED PAPERWORK BUT THEY GET THEIR VISAS. Recent rejections at Hanoi suggest more documents are indeed required to satisfy the financial requirement . As a matter of fact i have not seen a single recent approval that just provided what they asked at the site lately. Hope this helps 🙏

here’s one that popped up on the search. Do you see 6 months of pay slips? I don’t. What you state should help people’s applications, but at the end of the day, it’s not fact. You also have no knowledge of why people get denied. It’s not as simple as just finances. No one knows why the immigration officer chooses to deny applications.

@Davion *****
maybe you are blind or cannot read your own picture. but the person added (4 RECENT PAYSLIPS) and even invoices. Stop the missinformation that “others have applied and have gotten this visa AS DIGITAL NOMADS WORKCATION BUSINESS OWNER AT HANOI IN JUNE without attaching paystubs is simply not true. Others come here for help and really cant find why someone would spread false information so they get rejected 🙏

@Guillermo ********
your reading comprehension is off bro. I did not say they did not have to include any paystubs… I said they did not have to include 6 months of pay slips…. Big difference

maybe at least im honest with my intentions in helping others and not someone that is pretending to help. Everyone here can read 🙏

bro… a simple search can come up with a bunch of people passing without needing to supply 6 months of pay slips. My friends aren’t in this group and they have no interests in joining so why would I ask them.

Also why would I make things up? I don’t benefit either way.
Guillermo *********
@Davion *****
exactly if they are not in this group why bring them to the conversation . Every person that has applied under the digital nomad workation etc in JUNE AT HANOI HAS PROVIDED FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS THAT SUPPORT AS OF WHY THEY HAVE 500k in their account. I follow the posts regularly and what you are claiming maybe it was true before June but not anymore. You keep saying YOUR FRIENDS BLA BLA BLA with no timeline nothing just because the website only asked a couple of question does not mean they cannot ask for me. Why send a “just fine” application when others have been succesful showing more documents just why? there are no second shots is either approval or rejection. You suggest people to apply with the bare minimum for what? So someone can come later and offer their “ paid help” ANOTHER PERSON MAYBE A FRIEND OF YOURS? Tell us the true story why are you spreading this info WHAT IS THE REAL PURPOSE?
Davion ******
@Guillermo ********
wtf?? I’m not suggesting people do anything 🤦🏻‍♂️ I, like many others, are sharing experiences and people can decide what they want to do with their applications.

There are people who will believe less is more and people who believe more is more. Fact is, people have been approved for both bare minimum and over deliverance… they’ve also been denied for both so no one, including you, know for a fact that it’s just simply a case of finances
Guillermo *********
@Davion *****
ok brother we all got the point of why your are doing this. God luck to you and your “lucky friends” 🙏

No
Davion ******
It could work. My friends had their 500K deposited two weeks prior to applying and they both got approved via remote work. This was early June. There’s no official “seasoning” requirement for Hanoi like some may say. No one knows for a fact what people are getting denied for and there’s definitely more scrutiny for certain nationalities
Dnatjugweme ************
@Davion *****
I agree with you. It could work, and that's what I answered the OP, but personally I would not risk it. A week is really short, I would allow for at least a good month seasoning before applying.

@Dnatjugweme ***********
I’m in agreement with you as well bro 👊🏼

At Hanoi based on similar applications that were processed recently it will be REJECTED. The money must be seasoned there for quite sometime 3 month minimum and 6 month if you want to be certain. If you dont have the financials get an sponsor and take the soft route. As a business owner/ staycation Digital Nomad YOU ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE PAYSTUBS THAT CAN JUSTIFY THE 500k SAVINGS. I recently applied there and monitor this forum and this is the late trend. THERE ARE NO SECOND SHOTS with DTV is either you convice them and get an approval or you get a rejection NO REFUNDS🙏
Steffen *****************
@Guillermo ********
You can get approved if you have been previously denied. Only thing is you’re out 10-12k bath dependent on location.
Guillermo *********
@Steffen ****************
could be man but based on the recent trend they really go deep into the financials at the adjudication stage. During document check yes it will not raise a concern but with the dudes that have the final approval they dont seem to be lenient as before in Hanoi. Maybe it was the fraud-abuse that happened there before but HANOI is only a good place to apply with the proper documents otherwise i would not apply there 🙏

Thank you. My dad is retired here in Thailand and I’ve been visiting him but I plan to go the soft power route. Can you explain how the sponsor works?
Wannikea *********
Anonymous participant don't listen to this guy, he is sponsorship letter obsessed. He's giving template answers covering all bases when you clearly asked about soft power scheme. He's also wrong on where the money originates.

Yes I’m only interested in the soft power scheme, not the digital nomad process.

Anonymous participant theoretically it could work but THEY REALLY WANT THIS MONEY TO COME OUTSIDE OF THAILAND to satisfy the financial requirement. See if he has any money in the US with bonafide established bank statements. I would take that route in the states. Or maybe another relative. The moment you mention THAILAND in dtv it can get you in trouble. Not because its not allowed but because its the nature of the visa which again DOES NOT AUTHORIZE YOU TO WORK, DOES NOT AUTHORIZE YOU TO HAVE LOCAL CLIENTS ETC. my 2 cents but maybe other guys here can jump in if they have applied using thai funds or can go deeper into the subject. When it comes to this visa is better to stay simple so your story can be understood easily . The moment you deviate from this “ SIMPLE FINANCIAL STORY” the moment you get asked more questions more documents and thus end up in rejection territory.

I would not risk. Can work but a gamble. 3 months is probably better. You could spend 3 months in Thailand then apply in Hanoi

There was a report of someone who was asked for 6-month seasoning. Admittedly, they were from Myanmar.
Guillermo *********
@Dnatjugweme ***********
the 6 month trend AT HANOI is not just relevant to your citizenship/nationality. Maybe that could affect you in a way but this is not final. Hanoi wants to see 6 months of bank statements and continous flow of money AS OF JUNE OF THIS YEAR. Whatever happened before abuse fraud etc is not currently tolerated as i write this post. I notice that a lot of the people that got rejected in the past weeks here had comments from you telling them this was not required at hanoi( SEASON MONEY) . I suggest you to be more careful in your suggestions as people come here for help and telling them what has worked in the past ( 3 months ago) or who was lucky does not help them. You make comments on the majority of the posts on this forum so you know exactly what is needed at each post SPECIALLY HANOI WHICH IS QUITE POPULAR. There are no benefits for anyone in this group with other people getting rejected 🙏
