Hi everyone, I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa through an agent, and I’ve heard very different things about the 500,000 THB bank requirement.

Some agents told me the money doesn’t need to stay in my account for 3 months, even just 1 or 2 days is enough. Others said it has to be there for 3 months or even longer.

I’m really confused and want to do this the right way.

I plan to apply in Hanoi, so if anyone has experience applying there, I’d love to hear your insights.

– How long did your money stay in your account before applying?

– Was your application approved smoothly?

Also, if you know any trustworthy agent who has helped you or your friends get the DTV visa successfully, I’d really appreciate a recommendation!

Thanks so much 🙏

I just want to make sure I’m following a safe and proper process.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the DTV visa application process in Hanoi, specifically concerning the bank requirement of maintaining 500,000 THB. Participants share conflicting opinions on whether the funds need to be in the account for a minimum of 3 months or if a shorter period of a few days is sufficient. While some members recommend at least 3 to 6 months to ensure a smoother approval process, others have personal experiences of being approved with varying durations. Additionally, there are mentions of agents who provide assistance with the application, alongside tips on selecting reliable agents.

Just make sure your agent 'guarantees' you the visa approval (or money back). My agent got my DTV very quickly, for a low fee, and it was totally stress-free. I could probably have done it myself, but why bother when these guys ensure everything is perfectly done so that you get approved? When I see so many people here getting their application cancelled or rejected, I'm glad I didn't do it myself. For a few thousand baht, it's worth it. For more than that, I'd probably reconsider.

3 months in this group and you haven't come up with a few basic preferred scenarios toward a successful application?

thank you, ~curtsy~. It is a help group, not a spoon feeding group. I think it's pretty clear with a thousand posts on the subject that funds should season 3 months in most cases to be safe.

I applied on my own in Hanoi (no agent). Workcation DTV visa approved after 10 working days. No request for interview. I submitted 6 months of bank statements, with starting balance of more than 500K THB, and an increasing balance every month.

I was apply last week with visathailand.com and have my dtv 5 years in the pocket. Everything was clear, cheap and good communication.

I know personally many people denied because they didn't have the funds in for 3 months, also know people who had money in there just a few days and was approved, all at the same embassy

Search through previous posts. I am sure the info on how long the "Seeding" of money is required in Hanoi - as others mentioned all are different.

Definitely recommend 6 months for faster approval and a smoother process at a minimum I would say 3 months but entirely dependent on the consulate you’re applying from.

Also recommend uploading full passport book for Vietnam because it is typically requested later on.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have further questions.

@Ste****
, do you mean uploading every single page of one's passport?

Yup majority of people gets this requested in additional documentation to make sure the person is still in country and haven’t left back to Thailand although I haven’t tried to process one where they have uploaded it from the start

You're spending so much time benchmarking agents that you could as well apply by yourself. All the information is here. Take time reading and gathering information, and you'll soon be ready.
