If you live in Bangkok they don’t do the home visit. Go to your immigration office and ask for the list of their requirements.
I’ve done it in the past and it isn’t complicated.

What is bad? Immigration gives a 30 day under consideration, during that period Immigration or local Police does a house visit to check if your address is correct and you actually living together. Make a picture of their presence and leave. I never had a problem with that.
