Thinking to apply for a DTV based on working remotely. My job is entirely remote and that shall be written on the contract which I’ll use to apply. However, I would only start working in mid January. Is there a minimum time I need to be working for before I can apply for the DTV? I have a British Passport and been working in Thailand on a Non B for the last 4 years before resigning. Would apply from Malaysia or Vietnam.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is considering applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) while working remotely but wants to know the minimum work duration required before application. They have a British passport and have previously worked in Thailand on a Non-B visa for four years. Comments suggest that the approval process for the DTV visa can vary depending on the location of the application, with Kuala Lumpur being the strictest and Vietnam being more favorable for approval. Additionally, guidance is given to consider a 'soft power' activity for the DTV application due to the lack of documented proof of existing client contracts or business activity.
Suggest you select a soft power activity for the DTV visa.
You're asking à Thai Embassy or Consulate to grant you a 5 years DTV visa for something you have no documented proof of actively conducting a business with client contracts, income, tax returns, portfolio of services provided clients outside of Thailand....in essence...
KL Malaysia is the strictest embassy for DTV approval, lots of posts detail why. Penang is easier for approval some say. Vietnam very popular for its' ease of approval and has approved newly employed as some approval posts show.
