Hi all looking for some advise please.

Applied for my dtv through soft power 1 year Muay Thai course.

I’ve uploaded the necessary documents and have now been sent a list of additional documents they need which i believe some don’t even apply to me and weather they have been just generically sent to me.

1. I’ve uploaded my 3 months bank statements and it llyods downloaded pdf statements off the app and send and now they are asking for paper statements stamped from the bank and I don’t think they even stamp statements in the bank?

2. Asking again for another 3 months statements asking to highlight my monthly income but I’m not applying on a workcation it’s on soft power.

I’d also stated on the employed box I would be unemployed so not sure why they are asking for them?

3. Asking what I do for a living in the uk and how I would support myself and they want 3 months statements of invoices or employment contracts again I don’t think applys to me.

Has anyone else had anything similar to this ?

Many thanks
Answer summary
A user is experiencing difficulties with additional document requests from the Thai Embassy for their DTV visa application under a soft power Muay Thai course. Despite providing sufficient financial documents, the embassy is asking for paper statements, proof of income, and employment details, which the user believes are unnecessary for their situation. The community provides insights about the embassy’s increasing demands for financial proof and the confusion over requirements related to unemployment status and passive income.

It's a visa with 5 year validity. Telling them you're going to be unemployed and living off 500k for 5 years isn't going to cut it. Simple as
Anonymous ******************

They see 1 year and 500k . They probably don’t think it’s enough, also, they won’t mention it but they expect that you will have ample money to support yourself and any insurance issues. They asked this of me and I showed them 2.5m thb in an account and they were happy with that.

They asked him for it twice in his post. Do you read anything properly you absolute clown?
Luit *****************

@Khun *****
Even when you read it 100 times, it nowhere says remote work in Thailand is allowed for soft power visa.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
@Khun *****
For a soft power application they don't ask for remote work, it is not even allowed, but I don't know where you read remote work in the questions.

But for softpower they often want to know how you suppose to fund your stays in Thailand.

It might be passive income, or income from your job at home in the periods you are not in Thailand or just savings.

It is in the questions. It's in the very first item, "other request documents." He needs to provide written agreement that he can only work remotely on this visa, and not with any Thai entities.

@Shandy *******
The questions don't match the situation anyway,
@Craig *******
mentioned he was unemployed, so questions about employment contract, income related to work are not matching the situation.

I think they have some general statements they can select and that does not mean they all exactly match the situation of the application.

Softpower application with unemployed can be asked for income, but employment contract or bank statements with highlighted income from work are just incorrect.

Drawing from this kind of remarks the conclusion that remote work is officially allowed for a softpower application in my opinion opportunistic.

You can work remotely on any of the DTV categories. You can work remotely on a visa exemption.

@Alex *******
Maybe a friend, but dependant on what source, sometimes reliable, sometimes not.

The quote you find does not say remote work in Thailand is allowed, it only says employment is allowed, even when you did not apply as remote worker.

Apart from that it is not an official source and contains a lot of incorrect things, like you need proof where the 500K came from.

@Alex *******
You CAN indeed work remote on all kind or visa or even without visa and as long as you keep low profile you don't get any problems.

Officially it is only allowed without work permit with DTV workcation and LTR for remote workers.

Nobody said they don't know what they are doing, but it is a fact that often they ask for irrelevant info or already received info.

Explaining your situation and sending (again) what is relevant, often helps.

They might miss something, maybe caused by the way it is uploaded.

And where did anybody talk about issueing visas for the wrong purpose?

I did not mention that, nor did anybody else in this post, so just your fantasy?
Luit *****************

Please mind your own bussiness you trolling joker!

Of course
@Craig *******
can explain the embassy the details about work and employment are irrelevant because he is unemployed and has enough money to live in Thailand for 5 years.

Sorry to tell you but you can't reply to the request saying they're irrelevant because some Dutch loony on FB said so.
Khun ******
Khun ******
Luit van der Linde So you're saying the Thai embassy staff don't know what they're doing and are issuing visas for the wrong purpose?
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
@Khun *****
They can ask for income, but when enough savings are available you just can tell you don't have income.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
@Craig *******
How did you submit all documents?

Did you combine them in a single PDF document? You can only upload 1 document at each question, when you upload more at the same link, previous documents are overwritten, what might explain questions for documents you thought you already did send.

But it still is strange they add work and employment related questions.

Maybe just explain you are unemployed and give them information about your savings.
Luit *****************
Luit *****************
@Craig *******
Asking for income is a correct question, asking for details about employment and income related to work seems irrelevant when unemployed is choosen.

Hi, Craig. If you have not been working in the past three months, perhaps you have worked in the past year? Can you provide recent income statements? Just explain in a letter that you were not employed and you plan to live off your savings or passive income, if you are not planning to remote work. I think they basically want to know your income source. They may think 100,000GBP or more as you say you have is not enough to live for 5 years, but I would just answer the questions. If you plan to get a remote job later, then say so in the explanatory letter. I am not interpreting the request for employment information as a requirement of employment, but an explanation of a source of funds and your financial situation.

@Craig *******
though not required, did you submit that information about how you will support yourself during the 5 years of the DTV visa?

Did you show PROOF of the additional funding sources you hold as source of your income?

A simple one page letter to the Thai Embassy would have shown them your ability to support yourself.

How many months of the soft power activity did you submit?

Did you use an agent to prepare your DTV Visa Application for your submission?

Was your email address used with your application for the DTV visa?

Or was the email address that of an agent?

you think wrong. The Thai Embassy or Consulate has every right to ask you about your income, your ability to support yourself in Thailand and frankly any other questions they may wish. They are the decision maker.
