What is the application process for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) as a self-employed remote worker in Europe?

DTV ~ via European 🇪🇺 capital

Hi everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience with the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) application process, which I recently and positively completed. I submitted my application at a Thailand consulate in Europe as a self-employed remote worker. My professional setup is as an individual operating with a European VAT number associated with my activities, rather than through a formal LLC or company structure. To ensure all documentation was in order from the get go, I had my VAT registration officially translated into English and apostilled, which helped avoid any potential delays or issues.

As part of the application, one of the key requirements is to demonstrate financial stability by providing proof of savings. I needed to show that I had 500,000 Thai Baht in savings. To meet this requirement, and showcase financial stability, I provided bank statements covering the three months prior to my application, demonstrating that the necessary funds were consistently available during that period.

The application process itself began around September 10th. Shortly after submitting my initial documents, I received an email from the consulate requesting additional details, specifically a portfolio of my work. In response, I provided a selection of invoices I had issued to some of my clients to substantiate my professional activities. Following a brief waiting period, I was notified that my application was successfully completed this week.

Overall, the process was straightforward, and I hope that by sharing my experience, it may assist others who are considering applying for the DTV or navigating similar requirements.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need further advice!

Pardon me, but this is another reason anonymous posts like this one should NOT 🚫 be allowed.

There's absolutely no reason to 🚫 NOT say, which Thai Consulate and country the OP obtained the DTV visa from. As well as the passport nation of the OP.

Why not mention which country did you apply to ?

How many countries in Europe? About 50...? 🙄🤔

A little bit more information could be helpful for others...

Absolutely, Gerry. You are 100 % right in guessing that the Thai Consulate in question is the one based in Brussels, which also happens to be the capital of Europe 🇪🇺 as per the introduction title of this post.

Yeah... you're probably right... it's too... hmm... "smooth" somehow. That's not the style the members here use normally...

Well... maybe the admin will check on it, he can see who the OP is... or which account.
