TLDR : Answer Summary
A user has recently qualified for a DTV visa (Digital Nomad Visa) due to their YouTube channel. There is community feedback stressing the importance of waiting until official approval from the embassy before celebrating. Recommendations for Siam Legal as a law firm assisting with such applications are noted, but some comments suggest that it may be possible to handle the visa process independently without an agent.

No need to have an agent if you quality for the DTV... you can totally do it on your own and save money ...🤷‍♀️

It's a good company, I can confirm. Their services are relatively inexpensive. For example, to obtain a Tax ID from the tax department, they only asked for 10,000 baht. But then I discovered it takes no more than 15 minutes, and I got the Tax ID myself.

Siam Legal are a very good, reputable law firm here, I personally wouldn't use any one else (especially for doing due diligence). I haven't used them for visas though but I'm sure you are in good hands. Can't recommend them high enough👍. Good luck with your smooth application process 🙏

Note that they told him they would DOCTOR his pension to make it look like You Tube income .

The OP said...

James Miller I am not getting cash from yt yet. But I have a solid pension from Norway and the lawyers at Siam Legal said they could make papers so my pension "comes" from yt. I am financially independent. I sold everything I owned in Norway and now I live in Trang here in Thailand🙏🌴🇹🇭❤️

what's your point mate?.... That's his synopsis of their conversation and at no stage did he say 'doctored'. Hope your not inferring that Siam legal are anything but above board lawyers. For all you know they will set up some sort of company structure for him (completely within the law) and organise it that way.... All I know for a fact is that they are the largest, reputable law firm here and very much above board.... I watched you for the last few years just becoming worse and worse in your ridiculous keyboard warrior comments and scaremongering... In this particular case, regarding Siam Legal - you don't have a f*****g clue!

Anonymous participant 825 not just make him look like. If he makes videos in Thailand , monetize it and lives here he technically works here and his DTV is the wrong choice.

I agree with you. He can NOT earn money from youtube videos about Thailand, filmed in Thailand. That technically means working in Thailand = requires a different visa and work permit. I would be surprised if Siam Legal really checked out his channel before they said it could be used to obtain a DTV. 🤔

You say your living here, so without a visa? Doing border runs? I wouldn't celebrate being eligible, wait till your actually approved.

I live here on a touristvisa multi entry. When they do my DTV visa I have to spen 1-2 weeks outside of Thailand. I have appointment with a lawyer in January. Thay will make all papers for me and then it's off to immigration in Trang❤️🧑‍🎄🙏🌴🇹🇭

Sounds very fishy. The DTV is processed abroad by the MFA not in Trang by immigration.

It's possible if you meet the requirements for the DTV visa. Have PROOF of your income from your YT videos. Tax return may be requested

And the other needed requirements as set out by the Thai Embassy or Consulate where you will submit your application online using the Evisa online application system.

What's your passport nation?

How long have you been receiving $$$ from YT ?

Good Luck 🍀

var försiktig med vad du skriver på forum som detta... Immigration har nog lite koll i grupper där det diskuteras visum.

Frankly I would stay safe and not have that legal firm "doctor the pension" to make it look like YT income. That is not going to work. Especially when the Thai Embassy or Consulate wants PROOF of your YT income.

Suggest you look at the LTR VISA... It's a 10 Year Thai Visa. .
