Is it true that even tho we have a dtv visa we still have to go every 3 months to the immigration office? In order not to pay a fine? Cause I have to exit every 180 days anyway. I don't know why people told me to go to the immigration office after 3 months .

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, holders of a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) in Thailand are required to complete a 90-day reporting of their residence. This can be done in person the first time, and afterward, it can be done online. It's important to note that this requirement applies to most visa holders, with exceptions like the Long Term Resident (LTR) visa. If you exit the country before 90 days, the reporting requirement resets with your return.
I just did it. You have to bring a form, from memory T47 and passport. Is just a checking, then online they said after the first you can register to do it online. At chonburi they have a line you can send it to.

90 day reporting

In Bangkok you can do it my mail. Going to the post office is easier than going to immigration office
not on his first time, needs to be in personš¤· and as he is leaving every 180 day, the count will be reset, this means all of his future 90 days reports will be held in person too . except if he chooses to extend in Thailand
Yeah but not in Bangkok. And you have to apply 15 days before the due date. I've used the mail method for years, whether it's first report or not. I just did one a few weeks ago. It works, but not every office allows it
Maybe I try just do by registered mail next time, but you asked to show an official asking to say it has to be in person, and I just showed you.
No idea if the online system is making difference for regions.
I not have to choose an office online, but the system might do depending on address of course.
Anyway I did go to the office, the desk employee looked at my passport and documents and asked if I need extension, so she did not look very well when I still have over 90 days on my stamp and hand over a TM47 and TM30.
I said I wanted to do 90 day reporting, she took documents, no further questions and within 3 minutes another officer handed me over my passport and a TM47 receipt.
That's because you don't have to be there in person. Someone else can do it for you. Agents do it. Bumrungrad Hospital can do it for you for 500 baht. I do it by mail every time. What you showed me was a generic rejection slip which can be sent from any immigration office. I will repeat (once again):- Bangkok Immigration Office accepts postal 90-day reports for ANY report. I have zero knowledge of other immigration offices
He's wrong. I've always done 90-day reporting by mail, and I'm in and out of the country on a very regular basis. That's in Bangkok, I'm not aware of other immigration offices. Perhaps you're confused

That is correct. It's called 90 days report and all visa holders are subject to it (except LTR visas). If you leave before the 90 days, it will reset when coming back.

You have to do 90 day reporting on a retirement visa too.

You need to do a 90 day report of your residence. You or an agent has to go in person the first time, after that you can do them online.
But if you leave not only does the 90 day reset so does the reporting. For example you do 90 day in person. You leave and come back at 180 days. Your next 90 day is in person too. Not online. Mine was refused due to this and immigration explained why. Things may have changed and happy to be corrected.
You have to send it EMS. I've been doing it seven years or more, never failed once. Beats the crap out of hiking to CW and spending half a day there - but to each their own I guess! š
In Bangkok it was BOI Chimchurri Sq for us. However the Thai admins staff did it online for all the foreign staff. We just got handed a new printout every 90 days. I say online but just assuming nobody went down there each time for 20++ foreign staff
I have only done it in person in Jomtien. It is very efficient and there is a nice Lebanese restaurant same street. Tinnies Pies around the corner and The Pantry and Expat food shope close to that. :-)
Jomtien might not accept postal notification. Might just be Bangkok due to the stupid location of the main immigration office. For many that live in the Bang Na - Asok precinct it's a long hike
