(FYI Searched previous discussions but didn’t find it discussed) Upon moving to Bangkok, I would like to take in-person Thai language classes. I’ve studied with a tutor these past 2 years— and am learning how to read Thai. 📖 What language schools would you recommend?!

Note: I know studying the language won’t get yah a visa.

studying the language can get you a visa… an ED Visa. 1-5 years with a private language school. or the university with another type of ED

I’m going to Thailand on a DTV and as a digital nomad it’s important for us to navigate conversations easier with govt officials, communities, etc. Asking where other folks with DTV learn the language is important ☺️ Being polite and knowing a little Thai can go a long way when navigating immigration.

Thanks for the recs!!! 💛

CTFL at Chulalongkorn University is a fantastic program. A little pricey but was totally worth it in my opinion.

Honestly the Comprehensible Thai YouTube channel did more for me than any teacher. I also took some classes at Duke, but listening to the horrible pronunciation and grammar of 12 other classmates is not how I wanted to spend my time. However, they also offer private lessons that cover the same curriculum. But their 9 courses only cover up to lower intermediate level, and that’s being generous. What they claim is advanced level definitely isn’t.
