Hello I have an issue with one staff whom we wish to hire from July. She was working in BKK and resigned from her company few days ago and her old company cancelled her B visa today - which means she can only stay here til 21 June. However we are now trying to process her B visa but it may take some time to prepare B visa documents as our HR is

very busy. So we are suggesting to go to near by country first for 1 night and return, (ie: SG, HK, Cambodia, VN) then to go to process B visa to Laos after she gets 30 days tourist visa. But she said she has been told by travel agency that she can only fly to Japan or Laos and re-enter Thailand with 30days tourist visa due to her past visa status. Is that true? She is Japanese. Thank you in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A employer is facing an issue with a prospective hire who had her B visa canceled after resigning from her previous job in Thailand. She is concerned about her limited stay until June 21 and is exploring options to exit and re-enter Thailand with a tourist visa to facilitate the processing of a new B visa. There are differing opinions regarding her travel options, particularly if she can only travel to specific countries like Japan or Laos for this purpose due to her past visa status.

Hi all, thank for your input. My main point is is it ok if she fly to any country for a day or two(e.g: SG, HK, Cambodia, Vietnam) then re-enter Thailand on tourist status? Even though she had B visa previously, immigration will give her tourist status? Apparently she has been told that she has to return to her home country or Laos in order to gain entry which sounded bit funny to me. Sorry the way I wrote was not clear enough.

a Company can not cancel a Visa. They proberly cancelled the Work Permit, if she was in country on an Extension of Stay based on Working, she had to cancel this Extension the same day at Immigration because the reason working is no longer valid. She can apply for an Extension which if no valible reasons will be denied and she get 7 days to leave the country. She can come back with a Single Entry Tourist Visa for 60 days, which time can be used by the new company and HR to make all the paper works ready for a new work permit and copies for application new Non-Immigrant B visa.

Once work permit cancel , she must leave the country and enter back as tourist visa. Join new company only can get work permit. If she dont leave the country there will be overstay charges. Thb 500 . From my experience as this happen to me

If they cancelled her extension, why do you think she has until the 21st ?
