I have a friend w/me who got denied a visa B. She is on Vientiane, Lao and the Thai Embassy told her they didn't know if she would be granted another 30 day tourist visa or be allowed into Thailand. She wants to try to get in via the Friendship bridge at Nong Khai today. Anyone have any helpful advise, suggestions?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice for a friend who was denied a Visa B at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos. The embassy was uncertain about granting her a 30-day tourist visa or allowing her entry into Thailand. It was clarified that her friend could only enter Thailand via land crossings twice in a calendar year on a visa exempt entry basis, and since she has already used these entries, she must either apply for a tourist visa from another location or fly into Thailand. Additional considerations include documentation such as proof of funds and onward travel if she attempts to fly.

and I think by this time
@Kri****
now knows the options her friend has in Vientiane to get back into thailand.

Good Luck, (y)

she allowed in if she did not use her 2 stamp allowance if she from a qualified country. Can not understand why people can not even post the most basic info and expect help. Tell us where your friend is from and how many entry she had this year.

she posted that she's from the US and she burned her two 30 day visa exempt entry stamps by land already this year.. :/ :(

@Kristin ******
, keep in mind if your friend has an extensive entry history to thailand already and is flyin' in on a 30 day visa exempt entry she could be asked for proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH), proof of onward travel and proof of lodging.

IF she is gonna fly in visa exempt like that and she gets questioned she should have her Non-B paperwork ready to show saying that she was denied because it was correct and she's gonna get it corrected and try again.

Or she can slog on over to Savannakhet (a 10 hour mini-van ride thru Lao) and apply for a single entry tourist visa from them and enter at the Mukdahan land crossing

how many times can apply for a tourist visa in 1 year? I heard they made a limit to once a year, is that correct?

@Kristin ******
, then she cannot enter at Nong Khai for a 30 day visa exempt entry (or ANY land border). The limit is TWO in a year.

She can FLY in only.

@Tod ********
does she need to fly from Lao to Bangkok and get a 30 day exempt visa.

There is no 30 day tourist visa :/ She would be getting in on a 30 day visa exempt entry

AND

By land she can only get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries in a calendar year (Jan 1 until Dec 31)

SO the question is

Does she already have TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land crossings this year?
