Hello. Anyone here had an experience going to hongkong to cancel visa and come back to bkk as tourist? Im at the immigration at the moment, i asked the  officer to cancel my visa on 21th but she wants me to cancel my working permit at the same time. Problem is if ill cancel my wp and visa on 21st i will be over stayed til 22nd if ill go to laos. I am thinking to go to hongkong instead. Pls i need advice. 😊

She went to Immigration and the Extension of Stay is cancelled on 21st this month. She will leave on 20nd to get a new visa in Laos. Thanks for the update and good luck.

New twist on the story: End of contract was 21 April, she left without cancellation of WP, Extension of Stay and re-entry permit. Came back 4th of May and got stamped in till 24 Jun 2018 as last day of Extension of Stay . She now tries to contact the school, get WP cancelled and Extension of Stay cancelled. She will give an update how all turns out.

Explained by PM. These are your options: First ask your employer to make a new letter dating 24th as last day so you have time for travel arrangements. If he does not want to do this, than you cancel your WP on day 21, with the papers you get there, visit Immigration cancel your Extension of Stay on day 21, apply for NEW Extension of Stay, cost 1.900 Thb this will be NOT approved and you will get 7 days to leave the country. If you do not want to spend the 1.900 Thb you must leave on the 21st or face 500 Thb a day for overstay.

Going Hong Kong or Laos is not a big difference, but you have to cancel WP and your Extension of Stay before you leave.

Ask your employer to make it 1 day longer, cancel on 22nd. Do it in advance so you have time to make travel plans to avoid overstay.

Yeah i will cancel wp and visa on 21st but if ill go to laos i will arrive 22nd. I will be over stayed

Procedure is: First you cancel your Work Permit on the last day of working, you can do this in advance, Than you visit Immigration with the cancellation papers of the Work Permit to cancel your Extension of Stay to match the same day as the Work Permit is cancelled.

With cut your visa I think you mean cancel the visa, but as reading you are at Immigration I think you talk about an Extension of Stay based on Working, a stamp you got at Immigration?
