Hi All,

I've recently accepted a contract which based in Thailand and was told that I need a Non immigration B visa to get into the country. I'm currently stuck in Jakarta and my working permit has expired here and they won't allow me to renew it as I will no longer be working here in country. My Indonesian visa free period now expires on the 20th August after its second extension so therefore I need to get out of the country. Going back to be my country of origin is really not an option as the regulations are extremely strict and the first available flight isn't until mid September.

The Thai embassy here in Jakarta have advised that I need to have a letter of acceptance which is to be issued in Thailand and I had people in Thailand state that issuing of any Visa application approvals were put on hold. I can see that lately there are extension being granted but I guess I wanted to know if any new Visas are being processed and if so how do I go about getting this done or if there are any other options.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on acquiring a Non-Immigrant B visa to enter Thailand as their contract in the country has been accepted, but they are currently stranded in Indonesia due to visa issues. They inquire about the status of new visa applications and look for other possible options to enter Thailand amid the current travel restrictions.

Teachers are listed as skilled professionals. Get the letter they are asking for, then permission from the embassy there. With that approval, you can come to Thailand, do quarantine, etc.

Make a checklist. Don’t miss anything!

You visit the Thai Embassy in Jakarta and they will tell you the procedure and documents needed to go and visit Thailand,

As the Thai Government is still repatriating Thai citizens and they have priority above foreigners, it takes time before you can even fly to Thailand, I guess you have to search for another option, if you have to leave Indonesia,

the Thai embassy in Jakarta are not very helpful and do not answer any specific questions they simply provide links to other websites. I understand the process and producer that is in place the challenge I'm facing is that I don't know if they are issuing invitation letter from Thailand. My contacts in Thailand are having difficulties understanding where to get the invitation later from as it needs to be issued by Thai authorities. There are flights departing JKT, I just need to understand where and how to obtain the correct documents

No, the Thai Consulate is not going to invite you into Thailand,.

You employer is the one who has to provide the documents that you are going to work, your work permit application and the documents from the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs to invite you to work,
