My boyfriend's business visa will expire on 25th March, and can't get a new one due to company's incomplete documents. He has Austrian passport. We plan to go to Thai Consulate in Kuala Lumpur this week to get a new 60-day Tourist Visa. However, Malaysia just announced on lockdown. I've checked online appointment for Vientiane as well but it's already fully booked.

Is there anywhere else possible?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat is facing challenges in renewing their business visa in Thailand due to incomplete documents and a lockdown in Malaysia. They seek alternatives for obtaining a new 60-day Tourist Visa and receive suggestions to consider applying for a one-year Extension of Stay based on their work in Thailand, explore options in Savannakhet (Laos), Singapore, and even Myanmar for a visa exempt entry.

Thank you guys for your advice!

personally I would do a border bounce to Myanmar ASAP before his options become even more limited and get a 30 day visa exempt stamp which can be extended to 60 day at immigration

I would say why not apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on working in Thailand. but he can try Savannakhet in Laos, Yangon in Myanmar or any other country where he can go. Singapore has an on line application system

Yangon is a walk in service

Singapore requires proof for self quarantine now. I just checked the Thai Consulate website for Yangon but there's no option for online appointment. Is this necessary to book appointment on advance or I can just walk in?
