How can I extend my tourist visa in Thailand as a UK national due to pandemic travel restrictions?

Hello. I am a UK national I have been in Thailand since the beginning of January. I was waiting for my work visa documents to be ready (from ministry of education ect) so have already extended my tourist visa until April 3rd.  

I now cannot travel to Laos to get my work visa due to corona situation - does anyone now if there is a way I can extend my tourist in order to stay here please!

then go to Kanchanaburi..easy at border..I doubt will close border.If they did close you couldn't leave Thailand so you wouldn't be stuck in Myanmar.

Why not? The borders with Laos are still open as normal the last I heard

No, you'd either need:

a. To purchase a new Single Entry Tourist Visa (from Laos)

b. To bounce out, and back into Thailand by land for a 30 day visa exempt, probably using one of the Myanmar borders.

because if the borders shut whilst I’m there I will be stuck and cannot risk it. It takes several days to process and is changing so much each day I’m scared thai borders will shut.
