What are my options for renewing my Tourist Visa in Thailand as a Namibian citizen?

Hi guys. I am a Namibian in Bangkok. I am waiting for my documents for my Work Visa, but it is taking too long and my Tourist Visa (and extention) is running out. Being a Namibian, it seems I can’t get a Visa on Arrival so a visa run might not be possible.

Can anyone help me with information on how to get a renewed Tourist Visa or any other way to stay longer? Thanks?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Namibian citizen in Bangkok is seeking advice on renewing their Tourist Visa as their extension is running out and their Work Visa is delayed. Due to the inability to obtain a Visa on Arrival, they inquire about options for extending their stay. Suggestions include applying for another Tourist Visa at a Thai consulate in a neighboring country, possibly Cambodia or Laos, as well as the implications of changing visa status on the application for a Non-B working visa.

Go to visa run Viantianne you can get 60days, more convenient if agency its hassle free. DM me if you need contact for the agency.

I would try it in Cambodia.

But make sure you have 2000 USD in cash with you. Otherwise they most likely deny entry

You may try the Thai Embassy in Savannaket for a new TR visa, if you had only one TR plus extension yet. Make sure, you meet all requirements and probably it would be better to stay in Laos for a couple of days before going to the Embassy.

you also need to realise, that if you manage to get a new visa, you're application for your Non B working visa, will be voided and you'll need to start again

Getting visa for Thailand is such a pain in the ass, looks like its the hardest country to get visa and still so many people want to go there, which means that they will never change those ridiculous requirements...

You'll be on your way back to Namibia to apply.

No country in SE Asia will sell you a new visa

terrible news! Do you know other Namibians who had this problem and had to go home?

nope but I cannot see a country that issues visas to Namibian citizens.

You might be able to apply for another tourist visa from a Thai consulate in a neighbouring country, but the one we tried (Vientiane who are fine issuing visas to rich country passports), refused to deal with an Ethiopian passport. The Pnom Penh Thai consulate website is ambiguous on this so might be more amenable, they refused to clarify on the phone, but we gave up before trying in person.

Do you have Thai family (wife or child)?
