What Options Do I Have to Avoid Overstaying My Non B Visa in Thailand?

Australian passport - My single entry Non B visa expires on the 6th April. I was due to go an extend (get a new) multiple entry Non B visa but all neighbouring Countries borders were shut down. I have been told that the 30 day emergency extension doesn't apply for Non B visa holders and Australia are not issuing letters. It is my company but we do not have paid up capital which is required to get an extension within the country. The visa was initially obtained outside Thailand. Closest immigration is Samui. Can anyone advise what my options are to not overstay illegally?

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian passport holder faces challenges with their Non B visa expiring on April 6. Due to neighboring countries' borders being closed, extending the visa has become complicated. The 30-day emergency extension might not apply to Non B visa holders, and the company doesn't meet the requirements for an extension. Community members suggest applying for a one-year extension if possible, and some have had success receiving extensions despite initial dismissals. Contacting the embassy for support letters has also yielded mixed results, with discussions ongoing about how to navigate the visa challenges during this period.

I think Thai immigration is realising what a major disruption this is for all. It's going to need a team effort between Immigration and peoples Consulate's and Embassie's. 'Jump on a plane back home' is either not an option, financially possible, nor a fair expectation for long term people who have house, family, car, bike, pets, assets and a happy life (all before this crisis hit)

It's a bit of a mess right now (understandably) but all countries realise this is a time to come together and show compassion. If you have a problem, be proactive, ask questions, do research and make some noise to your embassy / consulate and to whatever extent you can...Thai immigration. Don't stress, common sense will prevail, but we will have to push it along ;)

but not for ppl on 90 day visas. I’m not here travelling. I’m here from Yangon waiting it out until I can eventually return after having lived in SE Asia for a long time. It would be a gesture of good will for the embassy to consider all cases

Read this...

Success story. My work visa (although I resigned from my company at the start of this month) was granted a 30 day extension- not from my future expiration/cancellation date (the end of this month) but from today's date. I arrived at 4 am at Changwattana. Ticket number 21. Finished at 7am. They started servicing at the counters at 640 am. Please note, you need a mask to wait in line (as you should.) I am American.

A nonB holder was granted the 30 days extension. Have you tried?

If your company can support you have to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay at Immigration, but that means the company has to meet requirements. If the company is not able to do this, there are mixed reports of people using this Embassy letter and still get new stamp with application is under consideration and a few days of stay.

It depends on your Immigration Office
