TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai embassy in Penang, Malaysia does not renew visas; applicants can only apply for a new Non-Immigrant B visa there. Recent comments suggest the embassy issues a 90-day visa which must be extended in Thailand. Documentation from your employer is necessary for application. Historically, the embassy's issuing practices may have included longer durations for specific roles, but current procedures may differ, and applicants are advised to check directly with immigration upon entering Thailand.

Yes the Thai embassy in Penang can do it but only for 90 days and after that you need to go to your immigration to have it done for 1 year so at the end better go directly to the Thai immigration ;)

There was something I recall from pre covid days about Penang only issuing a year long Non B to a company director. They issued a single entry 3 month Non B visa for others and you’d have to extend in country. I’ve not seen many (if any) since then that I can confirm if that’s the same these days.

This is going back some time so may well not be accurate.

No embassy "renews" visas. You can only extend a visa inside Thailand at an immigration office.

You can apply for a new visa at an embassy if you qualify for it. Their website should have the current requirements.
