I’m a 68 year old American and my wife if an under 50 Chinese national. We are legally married in USA but no green card. If I get a standard retirement visa, i.e, 800k bank deposit and proof of income, can she be attached to my visa as a depended?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of attaching their wife to their retirement visa in Thailand, specifically asking if she can receive a dependent visa due to his standard retirement visa qualification. Responses indicate that the wife could potentially obtain a visa based on his non-O retirement visa, but this must be arranged prior to traveling to Thailand, as obtaining it within the country may not be possible. Users suggest checking with the embassy for specific regulations and mention alternative long-term visa options.

Hey wasnt meaning it like that I apologize I expect to be done early. I guess its like the 10 year old saying the 25 year old is an old man my bad all good dude.
I was that kid 😂. I hear you. I was luckily enough to retire at 50. The said thing life expectancy is more now so the retirement age will be raised at some time
Unlike many of these old negative men I didn’t marry a western woman, get divorced and lose half of everything and have kids. They can retire at near death and I am gonna move a oot sooner. I think these old men are jealous. 😂😂😂
I am sure everyone wished they could have retired earlier. I am lucky I have a military pension and private pension and sold a small dental laboratory. So I am set for life. Retiring at 50 was my goal. But I do miss and love what I did for a living so I still do some work online for free to kill time if board.. I have houses in Thailand and phillipines and Italy. I am blessed and I hope you can achieve your goals. The key is to be happy and not worry about others
I just want to be out of the western world sick of white people and their bs. I am doing it 10 years earlier and people who are halfway to the grave are angry. Whatever I will still be here in 10 years unlike some of them…
That is probably true as a matter of fact but it is also fact according to SSA that 62 is the age of eligibility, if one can afford to do so and wanted that option. Not trying to be argumentative, just stating what SSA shows on their website
I have opted to take mine early at 62. I get my first deposit in May. It’s not mandatory 67. Anytime after 62nd birthday from what I have been told by SSA
I just convinced my 91 year old Grandfather to apply for a DTV based on Muay Thai training sessions. Easy Peasy .. he is looking so much forward to roam the Pattaya walking street . .forever young!
oh what a splendid idea, signing for a Muay Thai class at the age of 68. What makes you think that the eyebrows of the Thai Embassy staff will not fling to the ceiling ? . .can you come up with a more plausible idea?
Greg Alexander Muay Thai is also general fitness. There's no requirement to be involved in competitive boxing. I regularly have beers with a 71 year-old who has two Muay Thai classes each week because he finds standard gym workouts to be too boring. Although I will add he doesn't do it in order to qualify for a visa as he's on non-o retirement
In order to get this to work you would need to get the non-O retirement visa for yourself and then also get one for your wife based on your non-O retirement visa before you left, as it's not possible to get this in Thailand. You would want to check with your embassy first to see if they allow this as many embassies do not.
