Just got the third degree at DMK after using my METV. He said this is my last entry and I’d have to get a DTV which I already planned on. My question is does anyone know if you are 100% PT veteran with SSDI if that will suffice for the 16,000 in the bank.

I received approximately 6,000/USD/month.

Is there a loophole or are they being strict on the 16,000?
Answer summary
The poster faced scrutiny at DMK airport regarding their METV visa status and was told they must switch to a DTV visa due to past entries. They seek advice on whether receiving SSDI as a 100% PT veteran meets the financial requirement of 16,000 USD in a bank account. Comments confirm that there are no loopholes, emphasizing the strict need for the required bank balance in the applicant's name and stating that one may need to return to the USA to apply for the DTV.

How many days have you spent in thailand during the last 12 months?

I go for about 5 months and had asked about a DTV and my embassy told me to get METV a couple years ago

They are 100% strict on the 500k baht equivalent in a bank account in your name.

And you would need to return to USA to apply
