TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Thailand sought recommendations for travel and health insurance as their current coverage was expiring. Several community members suggested reputable insurers like AXA Thailand, True Traveller, and contacting local insurance brokers. It was highlighted that travel insurance typically covers only short-term stays, while health and accident policies might be more appropriate for long-term residents. Recommendations included notifying insurers about current residency instead of planned departures, and suggestions for personal brokers to tailor plans according to specific needs.

True Traveller are worth a look. They will insure you even though your journey has already begun

If you mention your location, there are some good insurance brokers in Thailand, you may get recommendations, an insurance broker would be happy to organise something to suit your requirements, have you considered just purchasing a good accident cover, and also a good critical illness cover?? They are the two things that could potentially cost you a lot of money, any minor illnesses you could just pay for it yourself, with full thai medical insurance, if over a certain age, or you have pre-existing conditions, they are usually excluded from any policies anyway, so it might not be worth it.

Unless you intend on 'travelling', travel insurance wasn't what you were looking for, as it usually only covers upto 90 days after arrival. As suggested look at a health and accident policy from someone like AXA Thailand.

Try contacting this company. I have medical and vehicle insurance through them since I moved here 12+ years ago. They speak English.
