I’m planning to get Pacific prime insurance. Any of you have used it before?
Or any other recommendations?
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around experiences with Pacific Prime insurance and various other insurance options available for expats in Thailand. Users share personal experiences with different insurers, like Pacific Cross and Cigna Global, and recommend getting local insurance advice, especially when considering pre-existing conditions. Suggestions include contacting brokers in Thailand, being aware of potential exclusions, waiting periods, and the importance of having sufficient savings for unforeseen circumstances. Overall, the community emphasizes the need for tailored coverage based on individual circumstances.
i read all these insurance companies people recommend. but do they cover pre existing conditions? do they pay their claims? do they pay directly too the hospital?
Pacific Cross was Earlier a catastrophe and could charge up to 120% higher premium if you used them. But they changed their policy abolishing the extreme individual charging scheme getting more in line with others. However, they are not the cheapest alternative and the premium accelerate quite much at higher ages. The cheapest alternative is today WR-life.
Contact Alan at ThaiExpatHealth. He suggested the best plan for my situation, all I had to do was the medical and pay the premium. Job done, excellent service.
Pacific Cross. Decent and comprehensive. But should you have any pre conditions can be problematic. Watch out for waiting periods and exclusions. Pacific Prime were not the best Broker to be fair. Do NOT try to arrange Thai Medicare cover while overseas. Use Travel insurance initially and use a reputable and recommended Broker within Thailand in person after arrival. Your Travel Policy allows that element of flexibility. Allow plenty of time the underwriting process can take far longer than anticipated.
John Kenealy Thank you! I do have insurance already, but my overseas company recently made some changes and it now only covers emergencies in Thailand. That’s why I’m looking for additional coverage
regardless of who you choose, always be sure to have plenty of savings in case your insurance (even if expensive and company is based in Germany) preapproves your surgery and then denies your claim after you have the surgery and then says they will make an exception and pay your claim and then deny your claim again.
