When paying the fee for extension based on married to a Thai I read that there are 2 options. Could someone advise the difference. I'm thinking that the multiple entry is if within the year you plan on leaving the Kingdom?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There are two types of fees to consider for those on a marriage extension in Thailand: the extension fee and re-entry permit fees. A one-year extension costs 1,900 THB and allows you to stay in Thailand for a year if you meet the requirements, including being married to a Thai national. A single entry re-entry permit costs 1,000 THB and allows you to leave and return once, while a multiple entry re-entry permit costs 3,800 THB and permits multiple exits and returns. It's important to note that these re-entry permits are separate from the extension of stay.

You are slightly confused there is ONE option for a yearly extension inside the country

When you buy an extension inside the country and it is sold with NO re-entry permit because you're already here and it cost 1900baht

THEN

after you get the extension inked in you buy a re-entry permit either a single for 1000 or a multiple for 3800

ok, all extensions are 1900 baht. what you have posted is the prices for re-entry permits, that is on top of the extension fee.

That is the fee for the RE-ENTRY PERMITS.

REGARDING RE-ENTRY PERMITS:

A single entry re-entry permit allows a person to leave Thailand and return ONCE to keep their existing "admitted to" stamp alive.

A multiple entry re-entry permit allows a person to leave Thailand multiple times and their "admitted to" stamp stays alive.

On re-entry, additional time is NOT added to the existing "admitted to" stay. The land borders are still closed.

This is different then a ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF STAY.

REGARDING ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF STAY:

A one year extension of stay allows a person to stay in Thailand for one year, assuming they meet the legal requirements (i.e. marriage to a Thai national, etc.). The cost is 1,900 THB.

A person does not need to acquire a re-entry permit at the time of getting a one year extension of stay, however is highly recommended.
