Thanks to Tod and group for getting me this far. Based on being over 50 and having sufficient funds, tomorrow I go to Bangkok Bank for the same day bank book stamp and then to immigration section C-1 in Bangkok to apply for the non immigration O -90 day visa. The steps are completed worby 30-day day extension on my 30 day US exempt stamp a few weeks ago ( good until August 9th) and then I opened a Bangkok Bank account and transferred 800k B funds into there account last week .

I would like to have the freedom to visit other Asian countries during my 90 day non immigration visa . Do I have to pay a separate fee for multiple re-entries at immigration tomorrow.or airport latet....or is there a multiple re-entry version of the 90 day non immigration O visa that might be a bit cheaper ?. I ask because all these fees are starting to add up .

After I have the 800k B seasoned for 2 months I intend to go for the one year over 50 in age extension .... from what I am reading the one year extension does have a multiple reentry version, and I'd really like to be able to find the same thing in the 90 day non immigration visa the precedes the extension period.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in the process of applying for a 90-day non-immigration O visa, aiming for freedom to travel to other Asian countries during this period. They inquire about the costs associated with multiple re-entries, noting a distinction between single and multiple re-entry permits. The responses clarify that a re-entry permit is purchased separately, with costs of 1,000 B for a single entry and 3,800 B for multiple entries, highlighting the need for a cost-effective option based on travel plans.

Thanks. I was confusing the type 0 non-immigration visa you apply for inside Thailand with the multi-entry type OA non-immigration visa you apply for in your home country. Do I have to pay 3800 B every 90 days for the multiple entries permit once I am in the one-year extension ...or just pay 3800 B one time for the permit at the beginning of the one-year extension. Since the pros and cons of applying in your home country versus applying in Thailand occasionally crop up in this group, I am wondering if higher costs applying for multiple multi- entry permits in Thailand are another advantage for applying in your home country.

The multiple re entry permit for 3800bt lasts for the duration of your one year extention of stay, ie just pay the one time.

You buy the re-entry permit seperately, multiple is 3800bt, single is 1000bt. If you're not going to leave and re enter more than 4 times during your 90 days visa then the single ones will be more cost effective. Same goes if you get the 1 year extention of stay.

There's no different version of any of those that includes a re-entry permit. You buy those separately. You can buy them at immigration when you get your visa, or extension of stay. Or you can buy them at the airport on your way out of the country.
