My DTV visa application (remote worker route) through the Thai Embassy/Consulate in Delhi was recently cancelled. The email only stated that “your application has been cancelled” without providing any reason or additional remarks.
I suspect the issue may have been related to the documents I submitted, though I’m not 100% certain. I’m also unclear whether there is any practical difference between an application being “cancelled” versus formally “rejected.”
After this, I reached out to Issa Compass. They reviewed my previous application/documents and requested a few additional supporting documents that I had not included in the earlier application.
Their suggestion now is that I apply through Laos instead of Delhi.
I wanted to check with others here:
- Does Laos generally have a higher approval rate / smoother processing for DTV applications?
- Has anyone here reapplied successfully through Delhi after an initial cancellation?
- Is there any known advantage/disadvantage between Delhi vs Laos for Remote Worker/Freelancer category applications?
Applying through Laos would involve additional costs, and Issa Compass would also charge an additional service fee of 18,000 THB (inclusive of the 10,000 THB visa fee).
The interesting part is that they mentioned they would refund the full amount if the application gets rejected but only if I follow their suggested route and apply via Laos.
Part of me still feels like taking another chance with Delhi.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has had similar experiences or insights. Thanks in advance.
