I'm living in Thailand and have a DTV Visa that allows me 180 days of stay I'm curious about dTV Visa extensions? Does anyone have any details around the cost or necessary documentation?
Answer summary
The DTV Visa allows a stay of 180 days in Thailand, but extensions are challenging. To apply for an extension, you generally need updated paperwork and proof of 500,000 baht in your bank account for at least one month. Immigration tends to be strict about this visa, and many have found more success with border runs instead of extensions. It's also important to check in with local Immigration every 90 days during your stay.

Fly out fly in plan ahead get good deals on flights so great places in region for couple of days away
I have only heard of two successful extensions as Immigration keep asking for more documentation which makes it virtually impossible. Do a border bounce as John said.
Thai immigration generally doesn't like the DTV so it's probably easier to just do a border bounce. If you want to try your going to need all your paperwork updated for when you apply and 500k baht in your bank for at least a month prior. Some immigration offices appear to want to see the money in a Thai bank even though you can't open one on a DTV
