What are the options for reporting or extending my stay after 180 days on a DTV in Thailand?

For 180 day reporting with DTV. Is it just fill the TM47 again as I did for 90 days or is it more difficult? I’m in Phuket this week and was hoping to do it here but maybe it’s easier to drive to Laos boarder when I fly home on Friday.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about reporting requirements after reaching 180 days with a DTV visa and seeks advice on whether to report at immigration in Phuket or do a border run to Laos. Comments clarify that upon reaching 180 days, one must leave the country or apply for a full extension (another 180 days). If the user stays for 90 days consecutively, they need to report their address at immigration. The general consensus in the comments favors a border run to avoid complications with extensions.

Two total different things but said in one sentence.

a DTV holder gets maximum 180 days of stay at entry into Thailand.

This period of stay can be extended ONCE with another 180 days at local Immigration.

IF you are 90 days consecutive in Thailand you need to report and confirm your address at Immigration, the fist time is done in person, day of entry is day one, in a window of 15 days before due date to 7 days after.

The day of report is the first day of a new period of 90 days, the date is mentioned in the stamp with the warning that this is NOT an Extension of Stay.

Ppl saying that extension is almost impossible. I don't know why but this is what I've read.

That is my question? I’m asking what is easier. Boarder run or Immigration? In a few days I reach 180 days on DTV.

1000% go visit another country and return. The extension process inside Thailand is basically the same as the original application documentation plus plus plus plus plus whatever the particular office wants to dump in your lap.

you have to do a border run anyway if you don't do extention. No 90 day report if you stay shorter than 90 days

You would only do a 90 day report for a second time if you got an in-country extension and most likely in that case the immigration officer would have filed the 90-day report for you during the extension process. So I guess the real question is, if you are actually here on day 180 why aren't you leaving or going to immigration and getting an extension?

You aren’t supposed to report anything, since you’re expected to leave on or before the 180th day. Or are you planning to extend with immigration for a couple of days only?

I was thinking I could stay here for another 90 days with another extension bringing it up to 27O days. So I do need to do a boarder run. Thank you for the help.

Yes, as Bob mentioned, you can't get a 90-day extension. Either you leave on or before the 180th day or you apply for a full extension (180 days) with immigration which requires the same full documentation as when you first applied. If you manage to extend with immigration, you'll then need to do your 90 days.
