Still Cheap

For comparison. I can get an Australian Partnership application paid for plus medicals, criminal checks and biometrics and everything.

And it works out still cheaper.

“RIP “ 😂😂🙄 - drama much 😂

That is outrageous! Something has to be done about that greedy RTE in NZ.

In the meantime just come on a visa exemption and get the DTV in a neighboring country.

My daughter lives in New Zealand. (From California) she tells me 2 tomatoes cost $8.

At least NZ still offers to provide affidavit letters to their citizens for Non O visa and extension of stay in Thailand despite their expensive visa fees.

Consulates are self-sufficient and can ask what they want for their services.

You can shop around if you're eligible for a certain service at any other consulate.

NZers have right of abode in Australia. Just move to Sydney and apply there 😆

Might be worth applying via the Aussie embassy as kiwi passport is reciprocal.

No idea if that’s possible but maybe worth checking?

If you can then just book a flight via syd to collect visa (if it’s a physical stamp or whatever)?

Yup that’s what a few people I know will do. They regularly bounce between Oz / Thailand so they’ll be fine
Matt *********
@Samuel *******
if you do it, please let me know.

I have both aussie&kiwi passport and was going to use kiwi one as I just renewed for 10 years.

My Aussie only has a year or so left on it so was just gonna use kiwi instead.

Be interested to know if it can be done

NZers get high salaries? Why the sky high price?

Rubbish salaries and high cost of living… that’s why everyone smart will move to Australia. Australia thinks it has it hard, wait until you go New Zealand hahahaha
Andi ***********
@Samuel *******
Are you a NZER ? i don't get how they justify such a high price..

I am a New Zealand national, originally from Auckland, our largest city. The embassy is located in Wellington, one of our major administrative centers. I had to drive there to submit my non-immigrant visa application coupe years back. In my experience, Wellington is more expensive.

But yeah, my countries too expensive that’s why I left. Why bother training, getting skilled, working hard to only get a marginally better salary. After Covid I thought meh I’ll take a break thank you… two years later I think after Thailand I won’t return, will go Australia permanently

@Samuel *******
ok.it is a shame you are priced out your own country. Have heard Australia is great to live in.

Don't get me wrong, back in my country I had a decent job and the opportunity to get a mortgage for a modest home.

But, lemon isn’t worth the squeeze. I don’t want to get locked into New Zealand, you’re not going to grow there.
Andi ***********
@Samuel *******
understand perfectly.."I don’t want to get locked into New Zealand, you’re not going to grow there." exactly why I left my small hometown in England to move to Tokyo.
Edgar ************
That's over 4x the advertised official price (10k baht) disgusting
Samuel ********

@Edgar ***********
yup 4x. That cost either reflects the costs of doing business in New Zealand or there’s an unhappy relationship haha
Maximilian *******
@Samuel *******
my guess is that the rent for the Embassy is X times higher then other places
Edgar ************
@Samuel *******
Do you know what the cost is at Australia? Im aussie so im pretty curious

Nope, I believe the fee is correct. New Zealand was the best example recently of the most expensive in the world for Thai visas…

@Samuel *******
hence my point.

Man that's heaps. Side question, nzers get 60 days visa free entry right?
Samuel ********

@Reuben ********
positive side yes 🙌 not that I have ever been here formally as a tourist myself.
Alistair **********
Not a surprise, their Tourist Visa fees are absolutely nuts too - NZ$300 for single entry, NZ$1,000 for multiple entries.
