ORIGINAL POSTER
ASQ hotels are more expensive if booked as a package for 15 nights. But same hotels if you book from Agoda for same number of nights are much less. So can I book from Agoda or I have to buy the package? And why’s it’s so?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion centers around whether it's possible to book ASQ (Alternative State Quarantine) hotels directly through Agoda without purchasing a comprehensive package. It is clarified that while you can book ASQ hotels via Agoda, they must specifically offer ASQ packages that include additional services such as meals, transportation from the airport, and mandatory health checks. The higher costs of the package correlate with these services, which are essential for compliance with Thailand's quarantine regulations.

The asq packages are very good value considering all included. Dont try and work your way around this

2 covid tests, nurses/Dr, secure transportation from the airport etc, all extra costs.

If you book a normal room without quarantine services, you won't get a certificate of entry, but you can book an ASQ package on Agoda, which is what you need.
Stephen ***********
Is this a real question?
Arron *********
Normally you cannot book through an Internet booking agent to stay in an ASQ hotel? These hotel only accept quarantine guests.

All ASQ hotel are for ASQ only they have all done a lot of work to get them up to code most of the hotels don’t have there own kitchens so the use a specific catering company they also have to have a area fir the nurse to work and stay normally 4 on a shift some have installed extra security and cctv cameras plus the hospital get about 40to50 % of the money for nurse and your tests

Hotels can have ASQ and Non ASQ guests. Floors must be blocked off for the ASQ rooms, not the entire hotel though.

not from what I have been told and witnessed as the other guest can’t use anything in the hotels in clouding elevators lifts stairs reception unless it’s in in a different building I think your wrong unless you have proof of this I won’t believe what you say

well that makes a mockery of ASQ But I stand corrected

@Andrew ****
having been through the process I found the segregation is very well done.

There are changing stations between ASQ and non ASQ areas where staff don disposable overalls, shoe covers, face masks, hair covers. face shields and disposable gloves. Its very well organised the instructions and procedures i saw for staff were much like when i worked in nuclear power stations when i was younger.
Andrew *****
@Michael *******
I’m just dumbfounded that there are mixed hotels it maybe very well organised but just doesn’t seem right

@Andrew ****
Lots are switching over to full ASQ as its easier but when i came in July there were still not that many people allowed in.

Landmark ASQ is considerably cheaper than standard booking.

The cost of the ASQ packages include the hospital fees, quarantine transportation, and the 3-4 meals the hotel provides you. You need a certificate from the hotel in order to receive a COE.
เด่ ******
Answer : No, you won't get COE or visa from embasy with no ASQ package.

Yes...you can book hotel without “package”...but only if you can survive for 15 days without any food and water. 🤣

These hotels also must spend money on converting the hotel to ASQ standards. This must be recouped.

it is set up specifically for ASQ. Bobby Howard had posted the link below

You're buying a quarantine service - not a room. They're meeting you at the airport, feeding you, testing you, checking on your health
Bobby ********
In addition to what Michael has indicated, there's probably a payment towards the cost of the security personnel who will ensure you don't leave your room

There are CCTV cameras everywhere.

Dimitri Dimich. Yes I know. Some ASQ hotels have installed more for that reason. That's why there's additional cost
