FYI. My brother paid 2,000 fine for 4 days overstayed at the airport immigration today. Amnesty extension until Oct end seems not very clear. All others also had to pay.

Note: this is for a repatriation flight to india today.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post informs that an individual paid a 2,000 THB fine for a 4-day overstay while waiting for a repatriation flight to India. There is uncertainty regarding the amnesty extension until the end of October, with a reminder that any new announcement has not been officially published in the Royal Gazette, thus if one does not have an extension, they are considered to be on overstay, incurring fines of 500 THB per day, capped at 20,000 THB. An edit indicates that as of October 1, the amnesty was extended retroactively to September 26.

Thanks for the update. I'm closing comments.

REMEMBER... the "new" amnesty extension rumors that's been going around has *NOT* been published in the Royal Gazette, and is not law. If you do not have an extension of stay, you are on overstay.

The overstay fines are 500THB a day, maximum of 20K THB.
