Hi All

Not been to Thailand since July 2020 and wanted to find out how things stand with the Non-Immigrant 'O' Visa. I have looked on the London Thai Embassy Website but I cannot find any information. It is a mess. I am over 50 and married 15 years to a Thai national. We currently live in the UK but are looking to go back to Thailand for a bit in November 2023. Any and all information gratefully received. (And/or if someone can point me to credible, recent websites that cover this I would be very grateful.) TIA 🙏

I recently obtained a one year, multiple entry, non-O visa based on being over 50 with state pension, from UK. It was surprisingly straightforward to obtain online. Apart from the usual passport copies, photo etc, I uploaded my pension statements and travel insurance covering letter. Approval came through by email in a couple of days.

the state pension alone was of sufficient value ?

No, I believe they are looking for ฿65,000 pm. The state pension alone may not cover it. I included my other 3 pension statements too. A bit strange, as receipt of state pension is a requirement for this visa. Otherwise, you may need to show £10,000 in a bank statement.

yep applying online for the eVisa is pretty straightforward and the consulate has a LOT of latitude as far as what they accept for proof of funds

if you're not comin' back long term there's certainly no need to get a Non-O visa (based on marriage or retirement) 😕 Just come in visa exempt, take the 30 day extension on that and then take the 60 day visit thai family extension if you want to,

That gives you 4 months in country without any visa or hoop jumping,

after this scenario, can any of this be extended with leaving the country? I’m still over a year out to her USA visa locked up and planning. I’d like to plan ahead and cushion my first year and use the time to decide what long term visa would be best for me as retired, over 50, and married to Thai.

@Jeffrey ******
on any of those entries OR extensions I outlined you could apply for an in country 90 day non-O visa (based on marriage or retirement) by meeting the financial requirements and having enough days left on the current stamp you're on (15 to 21 days at most offices)

Scroll down and it is all there.

Here it states 'single entry only' for the 'over 50 with state pension'. This may be out of date. I obtained a multiple entry visa with no problem.

I agree, the multi-entry non-O (over 50) was surprisingly easy from London embassy.
