TLDR : Answer Summary
The question is whether a UK couple, both over 50, can apply for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on their marriage. Responses indicate that a Non-O visa can be obtained based on their age, but the Non-O visa does not apply to foreign spouses. One individual may apply for the Non-O-A visa if they meet requirements while the other may apply for the Non-O visa based on 'staying with family' in Thailand. If applying from the UK, a single entry Non-O visa may be issued for one spouse following specific embassy guidelines.

If you both apply in the UK, the bottom paragraph applys to you. You would be issued a 90 day single entry Non O visa if only one person applys for O-A visa

If you are both in the UK, one of you can apply for the Non Immigrant O-A visa if the person can meet all the requirements, if not the alternative is the Non Immigrant O visa. The other one can apply for the Non Immigrant O visa based on staying with family residing in Thailand.

No, for children it is up to 20 years of age to be dependent, from that age they should be able to take care themselves.

No. That's only for if you have a thai spouse. You can apply for non o based on being over 50.
