Went to immigration and got a residency permit whilst there I spoke about renewing my first O-A extension of stay, spoke to a great gentleman with lots of usual information but on the required list of documents it asks for a photo outside of house with visible building number and a map with route to house in case an immigration rep wants to pay a visit ??? Is this correct if so does anybody have an updated list of requirements????

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the requirements for renewing a Thai O-A visa extension, specifically mentioning the need for a photo in front of the house with the building number visible, and a map showing the route to the house. Community comments confirm that while the photo and map may be standard requirements, they may not always apply, especially for certain types of extensions. The advice is to directly inquire with the local immigration office for the most accurate and updated list of requirements.

Done my yearly extension in Phayao yesterday it's my 2nd one needed map recent photos of myself and my wife outside home and around the house also 400 000 must be in the bank for 3 months no home visits only for your first extension got my under consideration stamp and return 22nd July for remaining months inked in

IF you got an under consideration stamp
@Te***
you most likely got an extension based on marriage and (no matter what the officer told you) the seasoning of the 400K baht is 2 months before you apply. NOW some offices request you keep it in there for the 30 day under consideration stamp, but I can say with 100% accuracy that the seasoning of the funds before you apply is 2 months not 3

yes Tod it was the 2nd extension marriage based she told me for your first extension marriage based your money only needs to be seasoned for 2 months and any subsequent extension must be seasoned for 3 months...who am I to argue as my money was seasoned over 3 months yesterday was just a heads up regarding my own experience for anybody extending at Phayao

Aren't you on extension based on marriage to a Thai, do you? OP is talking about an extension based on being over 50.

I had to draw a map since years, that's normal

What immigration office are you using? The photos are usually only required for marriage extensions, the hand drawn map has been a requirement in Bangkok for comin' up on 3 years now.

Phuket has those "foreign volunteers" but it seems the info you got was correct.

This phuket immigration volunteer website lists a photo and the map too and the info was updated in April this year

how do I get 12 months if my date for renewal is after 10months ???

@Dave *******
you'll only get the extension for as long as you have the 40k/400K insurance from one of the 15 approved thai providers.

the first year (because your insurance and your extension don't expire on the same time) you don't get a full year BUT every year after that you will

cool that’s not a problem as I will renew to concurrently when this years expires and then with the 9or 10 months bank records should suffice ✅✅unless borders open and I do a run 🤣🤣🤣🤣no chance of that

I think the pic of the house and number is standard. Never heard about the map. If there was s comprehensive list of requirements people wouldn’t have the problems they do lol xx

Reality is you must provide your local immigration office with what they want to see to extend your stay. Ask them for their list of requirements and submit as listed. By doing so you will get your extension.
