Ey guys,

I' ve read that the current Covid Extension is getting harder to obtain around the country. Anyone has gone to Krabi Inmigration these days or is going to? I want to know what chances I have. I already got 1 Covid Extension previously so Im not sure if they would grant me another one. My Visa expires on 23 Jan (nation.Spanish)😅🤔

Answer summary

The post discusses difficulties expats are facing in obtaining COVID-19 visa extensions in Thailand, particularly in Krabi. The original poster notes their current visa expiration date and previous extension status, seeking advice on their chances for a second extension. Community comments suggest that while obtaining a second extension may be easier for recent arrivals compared to those who have been on extensions since March 2020, it is important to prepare documentation such as a return flight ticket and potentially a letter from the embassy.

I arrived in Thailand, but not in March 2020, but March 2021 and I have been on COVID-19 extensions since then. I plan on leaving the country around June or July if nothing happens.

read last 5 lines of right column ..

Good Luck.

As you may be the person referred to with many COVID extensions.

Be prepared to answer question Why are you still here ?

As well as you may need a letter from your home country Embassy requesting the Covid extension for you.

And may ask to see a confirmed airline ticket leaving Thailand.

The answer is simple: Return flight ticket.

Second shouldn't be too difficult. It's the people that have been in Thailand since March 2020 that are running into problems now.

They might need to think about getting a return flight ticket to their countries so that they can prove they need to stay here longer till the date of their departure so that it sounds more credible. If their flights got cancelled, and they needed to reapply for more future COVID-19 extensions, they should show a cancellation email to the Immigration Officer to prove it. As for those who arrived here in March 2021, according to my estimation, we might start having problems to get such extensions granted around March-April 2022.
