Good news today morning was meeting again two month given be happy
They should make STV more straightforward and let people come for longer stays in an organized manner rather all this mess with border runs, extensions etc etc.

I think before long they are going to have a proper sort out. These border runs will come to an end and everyone will have fully legal/ viable visa without all these dodgy agent visas etc etc.
I know , should have said no more border runs ever

Paul Weinhardt. It's the question I've asked. I cannot understand why people don't get a proper visa. If you're married or have a Thai kid, it's so easy.
Bobby ********
Paul Weinhardt. Many married foreigners won't even get the "marriage" visa. They preferred the cheap charlie method of bouncing every 90 days!
True. It is awfully full at immigration the past weeks. Annoying. Disgusting and not healthy. But that is not due to COVID extensions, but to due to utter inefficiency and stupidity of the system. Why make peope come in so often? Why make them come in in person at all? Why make them come in even twice (one time for "under consideration" stamp, and then once more for the final stamp)? The whole Thai immigration is rotten! Non of that would be needed anyways, if there were long term visa options for people younger than 50, by the same scheme people over 50 can stay in this country.

Frank-Steven Eichholtz. There are long stay options for under 50's. ED visa, B visa, marriage visa, elite visa.
All of them not (less) attractive compared to retirement visa: 1) ED: Locally inflexible, as need to attend classes in person at a single, specific location. Also rather pricey of late, as they tend to rip people off for in-country transfer of visa. 2) Non-B: Equally locally inflexible and pay is unattractively low in most cases. 3) Marriage: I don't think getting a visa is / should be the right incentive for marriage. 4) Elite: Way overpriced. Sure, I am happy to pay the regular visa fees for the "privilege" of spending my foreign money in this country, but certainly not that premium that comes with the elite visa. Well, so lets see when they will finally follow up on their last years big promise of introducing a new visa category to attract qualified individuals and remote workers for a longer stay in Thailand.
I applied for Covid 60 day extension and immigration told me to come back on the 25th of Jan, they gave me a 14 days under consideration stamp and I am unsure what that means or might happen. Does any one have legitimate answers
That's true. If you've been given an under consideration stamp you will get the balance of your 60 days even if new covid extensions aren't allowed to be sold past January 25. Report as required on the 25th of January and you will be given permission to stay until
This means you need to come back to the very same office on that exact day on which they will then stamp the remaining 45 days of the extension into your passport. Don't worry, they do this for everybody. As to why? No clue. What at senseless, annoying exercise for all parties involved.
Yes that what they told my wife come back on that day to the same immigration office and they will give me the extra 45 days but until they do, I have concerns as I have to leave Thailand this Friday which means change airline ticket, PCR test has to be booked and then fly to Bkk and get a hotel all in 4 days hum. Thanks for the input and hope you are right
you can do 90 day reports online or by post. Or make an appointment, no queue

When they say 25th, does that mean you can still apply on the 25th? May sound like a silly question, but Monday is the 24th...dare we wait all day with fingers crossed for good news? Our current 30 day Visa expires mid February, therefore hoping covid visa gets extended 🙏🏼🇹🇭🤩
In case you on a 30 day free visa you can not apply for COVID extension. You can get a regular 30 day tourist extension before the day your current stamp expires.
If this then all eventually runs out you be eligible for a C-extension, if they postpone it after Jan 25 it is
