TLDR : Answer Summary
The current Covid visa extension requirements in Thailand allow applications up to 30 days in advance at most immigration offices, moving away from the previous 3-day rule which was based on business days. It's important to be mindful that if you're applying for your first Covid extension, it will often start from the application date rather than extending your current visa. Moreover, there may be variations among different immigration offices regarding these rules. Some offices might require proof of continuing travel plans, such as an embassy letter or a flight within two months, and there have been reports of stricter enforcement regarding granting extensions.

Went for a covid extention got declined said i needed to extend normal TR visa first. Then at other office got declined for my TR extension due to I stay in sukhumvit and that is samut prakan office not chang watt. Another day another waisted dollar 😅

Be aware they are getting picky in some offices about easily handing out the extension lately. Be prepared to show embassy letter or a flight out within 2 months.

That’s office dependent. However almost all offices will allow you 30 days prior for a further extension. You’d have to check with them for their current rules.

The 3 day policy is no longer applicable, you can go up to 30 days before at most offices. Even when it did apply, it was 3 business days.

Just know if it's your first Covid extension, it will likely start on the day you apply, not add on to the end of your current stay.
