Moving in a couple of months. All health insurance quotes are much higher than what I've seen in "budget" videos. I am 58 and healthy. Could I please get a few recommendations for insurers? Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking recommendations for health insurance providers as they prepare to move to Thailand. They noted that quotes received were higher than expected. Comments suggest several options, including contacting agents like Arawan Namak and Peter Wands, and providers like Genki, Tune Protect, and WrLife. Other comments also mention the importance of understanding coverage, especially for major health issues, and suggest considering accident insurance if healthy.

If you are in the UK take a look at Gowalkabout. Doubt it can be beaten on price

If your healthy then why not wait a few years before you get insurance. Ifyou ride a motorbike then i would simply get accident insurance off your bank, small money.

thank you. That's an option. I would not have any options in the US if something happened. I think I'm too conservative to take the risk.

The most cost effective insurance will be inpatient only and pay out of pocket for clinics, doctor visits for small things.

Doctor visits are extremely cheap and even small repairs like stitches etc.

Make sure your Re covered for the big 3- Accidents, Heart, Cancer

I also say have a look at WRLIFE but be very cautious about coverage and absolutely know what is covered and not.

No surprises when you need the Insurance.

Thank you. $250/mo was my best quote. I'm sure I'll take it and talk and learn a lot during my first year.

These videos are very approximate. Deductable helps but 58 is never going to be cheap for good coverage (3000 USD a year wouldn't surprise me)

it all depends on cover and deductible. Of course 0 outpatient coverage :)
