What are the requirements for maintaining a retirement visa in Thailand regarding bank funds?

If you pay in 65,000 baht into your account every month can you avoid keeping the 800,000 baht in your account? 1 year O-A visa Chonburi. Thanks!

It MUST be kept in the Thai Bank account in your name only for the ENTIRE YEAR. Using the requirements as described by Tod Daniels in his earlier reply.

In other words... don't take it out of your Thai bank account whenever you decide to leave Thailand.

The permission to stay stamp in your passport is for ONE FULL YEAR.

I think you mean the 800K baht for banked money method.. That has to be in the account for 2 months before you apply for an extension, then you keep it in the account for 3 months after the extension is granted and after that you can't let the balance go below 400K baht the rest of the year

BUT if you're going to use the monthly income method you need to transfer in 65K baht a month, each month, every month, for the previous 12 months before you apply for an extension. You can do what ever you want with the money once you transfer it in (there is no requirement you spend it and nothing that says you can't spend it either)
