It's been a long time since I've had to visit phuket immigration for a 30 day extension. Can someone please give me a quick run down on how it works again? Do I need to pre fill forms prior to getting there? Passport photo prior to getting there? Can I wear shorts? Etc

Also I tried to look online about open dates around Christmas? Couldn't find. I'm looking to go around December 18

Cheers ✌️

Answer summary

To extend your stay in Phuket, you'll need to visit the immigration office with your passport, a passport photo, and 1900 baht in cash. It's advisable to wear long pants when visiting. Completing any necessary forms ahead of time is a good practice, and you can check the specific immigration office website for exact requirements. Regarding Christmas, while it's not an official holiday in Thailand, be aware that the offices are likely to close for New Year festivities.

Christmas is not an official holiday in Thailand, but they close for New Year. If you are staying in a hotel it is easy but if you're staying in private accommodation you will need a TM30

Visit the website of the Immigration Office you want to use, or go get their handout about requirements.

Always make a good impression, and dress appropriate when contacting governmental institutions, banks etc.

Go in the morning with your passport, a passport photo and 1900 baht cash, complete the form and drop off your passport, the photo and the cash. Come back when they tell you to come back. I suggest you wear pants to be safe.
