I have several questions regarding the DTV visa application.
I am currently completing the visa application digitally through the official Thai government website. My first question is whether it is indeed not permitted to submit a DTV visa application more than 3 months prior to the intended date of arrival in Thailand.
My second question concerns the requirement to provide a planned departure date. At this stage, I intend to purchase only a one-way ticket to Thailand. Is it mandatory to present a return or onward flight ticket when applying for the DTV visa, or is a one-way ticket acceptable?
I would appreciate your clarification on how this requirement is typically handled.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Or Ash

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about two main aspects of the DTV visa application: 1) whether it is permissible to submit the application more than 3 months prior to the intended arrival date, and 2) the necessity of providing a planned departure date with a return ticket when only a one-way ticket is intended. Community responses indicate that applications should ideally not be submitted more than 3 months in advance, and that a fixed departure date isn't required; flexibility is allowed regarding flight tickets as plans may change.
Which embassy will you be applying through? If you plan to arrive in July don't apply earlier than April, that should give you enough time for yourself and also the application for the dependant after the main holder has been approved, you cannot apply for both at the same time. There is no follower, it either has to be a legal married spouse or child. You are under no obligation to provide a fixed departure date.
apply now, give intended date in next 1-3 months, no need to buy flight ticket online flight information is OK, no need to buy hotel booking only name and location is OK, get it approved and plan whenever you like to travel, DTV is for 5 years so you can travel anytime or never it will not effect DTV.....
Don't make your intended arrival date too far into the future or your application may go to the bottom of the pile. As for departure date, say 6 months after your intended arrival. Plans change and no one is going to hold you to it.
