Please Wayne avoid Pataya it’s bloody awful place. Phuket offers everything for a start. Lively if you want it. Quiet and scenic. Good motorcycling roads to the south. It’s a great place to start. I’m in Karon as a base but you can get to anywhere in Thailand from there. I’m still exploring. I’m near vietnam border as we speak. Did Pattaya earlier this year and will never go back.

Ideas as in where? Are you talking the baht bus route along beach road Pattaya? I lasted 8 months there before I had to leave. The monger lifestyle is one to take casually. If you go hardcore like I did, it will wear you down. However if you've enjoyed being a weekend millionaire there, I'd suggest living in bang saray. Find yourself 1 or 2 long time girls who'll visit you in the village and then spend 1 night a week in your Pattaya hotel and have a couple of short times like it's your weekend getaway. Good luck

Pattaya has gone down hill in the last few years ,I drive down once a month for my medication, and stay overnight, I was there Saturday, stood on my balcony, there's more rats than people running around ,smelly drains and the smell of weed is all over.street vendors are now trying to sell people Valium,
yeah, let it be Kalasin. Myself I stick with my GF in Nongudom, a village 16 kilometers from the Khao Phra Vihear monastery. I love it. Place has got everything ya need

Try srithong place Pattaya rent a room by the day, week, month
is there somewhere better than Pattaya for nightlife? I’d like to hear about it as I said I didn’t drink but I do a lot of rock ‘n’ roll and ballroom dancing.
I’m into rock ‘n’ roll ballroom dancing I don’t drink and I need live entertainment and dance floor . If you can suggest anywhere else other than Pattaya I’ll be impressed.regards Wayne
I have been living in many places of Thailand, yet. Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin, Cha Am, Rayong, Jomtien, Ko Chang, Trang, Chiang Mai. Ya know, Pattaya beats them all in congested traffic, shitty sewers, muddy beach water, garbage and most of all, these many vile and shabby people, sex tourists and desillusioned old men
with your extensive experience in different parts of Thailand can you answer the OPs question about staying near the baht buses, as Pattaya is the only place I've ever seen baht buses, and I too have been all over Thailand.
"as Pattaya is the only place I've ever seen baht buses, and I too have been all over Thailand" . . . . you have obviously been NOWHERE in the rest of Thailand. There are Baht Busses in Chiang Mai, in Korat, in Ubon Ratchathani, on Koh Samui and even in the outskirts of Bangkok. Literally they are EVERYWHERE over all Thailand. You are one of the greatest Fairy Tale Teller in this group. If you don't KNOW what you talk about, you should NOT post anything
11 hours ago I asked the threadstarter what he means with "Baht Busses". He hasn't reacted, yet. This was my question: "What's the "Baht Bus Route"? Do you mean the countrywide infrastructure of local busses and overland VIP busses ? Well, you will need a few months to see the interesting parts of the country from North to South to East to West."
With you. I'm going to add my "opinion," too, and just say that in addition to degenerate, disillusioned expats, everybody there--expat and local--only wants to know you for what's in it for them. I wouldn't even be surprised if Brian is touting Pattaya because he's part of some bar down there.
"millions" in Pattaya? You are making yourself laughing stock! 🤣😂🤣😂
