if you know anything about thailand you would realise it's quite normal to see an age gap between the foreigners and there thai partners, unless you live under a rock. And at a guess I would say the majority of males on this site are older than there partners, so I don't really see the point of your comment, unless you like to try and shame or embarrass people for no reason.
Have you been to Pattaya recently? Overcrowded. More expensive than Isan. Pattaya, Phuket and Chiang Mai are among the worst places to live in Thailand.
You need it retirement visit it's that simple and so does your wife I believe because she is also out of country passport. You have to show 800,000 baht in the bank every year you have to keep it in the account and be able to pay all your other bills of course. It's not cheap for three people to live in Thailand especially Bangkok if you go to the countryside or smaller cities it could be a bit cheaper. That's for you to figure out how you want to live.
I am doing same thing as Jeff, planning to retire in Udonthani Thailand. I stay for 3 weeks at a time with no visa every other month. I have the same questions as Jeff. What is the best visa to get - there seems to be many types. I want to go back to US a few times a year. Any advice on visa strategy and a service to help would be great. Thanks.
i am not sure about phillipines law and order but its air quality most likely better being an island state surrounded by sea. Pattaya air quality should be better than bangkok and chiangmai. but curiously bangkok suffered from smog often recently. Southern thailand regions like phuket much better in air quality but expensive living cost…
for sure AQI is generally better in Philippines as geography plays a role. But honestly, Pattaya, BKK and CM have some positives, but there are much better options all over the country
